How did you get into designing jewelry?
I began designing jewelry for myself. I was looking for fine jewelry that was almost too simple for the market. Some of my first pieces were our whisper rings, our hammer rings, and our cuff bracelets. I obsess over the detail and proportion of my pieces – 0.001mm of gold can make a difference. I think fine jewelry is a luxury but it doesn’t have to be loud or fussy. The collection is effortless and for every day, yet delicate and beautiful. A sort of anonymous luxury.

You currently reside in Los Angeles. Did you grow up here?
I grew up in a suburb south of LA where we currently reside and I went to USC. Our studio is located in downtown Manhattan Beach steps from the ocean. Please visit if you’re in the area.
What are you really excited for this year?
I am working on a Diamond Deco Bespoke Collection that will be revealed later this year. We also have a few exciting collaborations coming – stay tuned!

What are some of your favorite things to do in Los Angeles in the summertime?
We have two young girls so our leisure activities are usually very “kid-friendly.” We like to take our girls to the beach or to museums – LACMA is a favorite but there are also many small children’s museums around LA like Kidspace in Pasadena. We also make frequent trips to Disneyland. Children grow up so quickly - I think it will be a short season that our girls will LET us take them to Disneyland. We’re trying to enjoy it while it lasts.
What are your plans for the 4th of July weekend?
We have made it a tradition to take our girls to San Diego and watch the fireworks on the beach or on the lawn of our hotel.
